Saturday Convocation Tips

Paul and Denise’s Saturday and Beyond Convocation Hints

It’s Saturday, and the convocation ends today. While the temptation for some of you may be to leave early, we encourage you to stay until 11:30 a.m. What follows is a preview:

Wake Up and Move

Don’t forget to participate in this morning’s run/walk, sponsored by Concordia Plan, from 6:30 –7:00 a.m. (If it’s raining, the walk will be canceled.) Meet in the lobby of the America’s Center to get in some exercise with fellow educators.

If running isn’t your jam, our certified Jazzercise instructor will be up early to provide a free class for you. Meet her at 6:30 a.m. in the America’s Center.

If getting up that early doesn’t wake you up, perhaps the coffee available to anyone who would like to grab a cup in the America’s Center before the featured speaker sectionals will do the trick.

Featured Speaker Sectionals

This morning’s lineup of featured speakers offers a diverse range of topics for all ministries.

Keynote Speaker

Most educators are familiar with Gerry Brooks from his humorous online videos, in which he addresses challenging situations in a light-hearted manner. However, he has a serious side and often delivers words of wisdom meaningful to educators. You won’t want to miss today’s keynote speaker. PRO TIP: Check out of your hotel EARLY so that you can grab a cup of coffee and a seat!

Sending

LEA concludes its Convocations with a recap of the experience. It also provides uplifting words of encouragement from Rev. Gabe Kasper as you prepare to return to your ministry.

What’s Next?

After experiencing awesome worship, inspiring sectionals, meeting old friends and making new ones, and all the other events, we pray that you will leave feeling like it was a mountain-top experience.

As you are processing the Convocation, either individually or with others, you may wish to reflect on the following questions:

  • What was your most edifying experience?
  • What nuggets are you taking back with you to your ministry?
  • What spiritual messages did you hear that you can share with students and others?
  • Which parts of your Convocation experience are you most excited to tell others about?
  • After experiencing the Convocation, is there an area of your ministry that you would consider sharing at a Convocation?

We’ve enjoyed sharing our helpful tips with you this summer, and we look forward to seeing and meeting with you at the convocation. Continue to look for more information as the Convocation draws near.
